Overview
The data manager in FanThreeSixty lets you upload external files of fan data such as surveys, data appends, newsletter signups, etc. — so that you can map it to fan profiles and use it to identify audiences.
Getting started:
Click on your username at the top right of FanThreeSixty to access Data Manager in the dropdown
On the Imported Files page, click the Import File button
Tip: You can upload a brand new set of data or add data to an import you created previously.
Creating a new import:
Select “No” in the first dialog.
Name your import. This is what you'll use to identify the data set in the Audience builder and on fans' profiles.
Select your data source. To add more sources than you see listed, contact your client success rep.
Adding data to a previous import:
Select “Yes” in the first dialog.
Select the source your import comes from.
Select the import you want to link to. The builder will use the settings from the previous import.
Uploading and Mapping:
Upload your file: Make sure the file is in the correct format so all of your attributes can be mapped correctly. You can download an example file to see what the formatting should look like.
Choose your unique identifier: This is the column you use to identify unique fans in your file (most of the time, this is email). If you're linking to a previous import, the unique identifier may already be selected.
Check your file for duplicates (optional): If FanThreeSixty finds a duplicate, you can add more columns to your unique identifier. Otherwise, duplicates will be skipped.
Map your fields: Choose the FanThreeSixty attributes that most closely matches the column in your file. If you don't find a match, you can import the column as a custom attribute, or you can skip the column.
Checking for errors
Review your import. If everything looks correct, click Next. This will kick off FanThreeSixty's error checks.
If any errors are found in your file, you will see them listed. For most errors, you have the choice to fix them and re-upload your file, or skip the errors.
Once the error checks are completed, you are ready to import. The file will begin processing right away.
Tip: It may take several minutes or hours to finish adding all your data to existing fan profiles and to create new fan profiles based on the data you uploaded.
