FanThreeSixty strives to adhere to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the international standard for making web content more accessible to people with disabilities. While FanThreeSixty has worked to ensure that the app’s foundation complies with WCAG’s guidelines, it is the responsibility of the party that publishes any content to ensure its accessibility. To comply, image and video content must be presented in a way that is perceivable to all users. We encourage you to implement our tools in the Communications builder.
Images
A person with visual impairment navigating an app needs a way to understand visual content. To make an image accessible, provide a text alternative (alt text) to convey the image so that assistive technology like a screen reader can programmatically describe the image aloud to the user.
How to add Alt Text
After uploading an image in the Comms builder, a text field will appear for you to input the alt text description.
A short, succinct description of the image is recommended so a user can quickly understand the content.

Videos
FanThreeSixty supports the addition of captions and audio descriptions to make video content accessible to users with hearing and visual impairments.
How to include Captions (CC)
To add captions, we accept Web Video Text Track (.vtt) files, a plain-text format that includes start and end timecodes for subtitles so they appear at the designated time during the video. It’s easy to manually create a .vtt file with TextEdit on a Mac or with Notepad on a PC using the format below. For step-by-step instructions, check out this video.
WEBVTT 00:11.000 --> 00:13.000 <v Roger Bingham>We are in New York City 00:13.000 --> 00:16.000 <v Roger Bingham>We’re actually at the Lucern Hotel, just down the street 00:16.000 --> 00:18.000 <v Roger Bingham>from the American Museum of Natural History 00:18.000 --> 00:20.000 <v Roger Bingham>And with me is Neil deGrasse Tyson
Alternatively, you can upload your video file to a VTT generator like HappyScribe, and make any necessary edits (as ai generators average only 85% accuracy). This route is especially helpful for longer or more dialogue-heavy videos.
After uploading your original video in the Comms builder, you can add your VTT file
Users can turn captions on or off in the video control panel.

How to include Audio Description (AD)
For people who are visually-impaired, it is not only helpful to hear the dialogue in a video but to be able to understand any other contextual visual content. To bridge this gap, provide an audio description, or an additional version of the video that includes narration of content that can’t be deciphered without vision, usually spoken in between natural pauses in dialogue. This video includes a few examples of audio description. Use your favorite video editing software to add narration where necessary.
