Overview
You can use any FanThreeSixty audience with a third-party email provider by connecting the audience directly (Mailchimp) or by exporting the audience as a CSV. In either case, you can then use your audience in your email tool like any other mailing list.
Getting Started
Click into any audience and click the Use Audience button. Select Export fans from the action menu.
How to link an Audience to Mailchimp
If you have Mailchimp integrated with FanThreeSixty, you’ll see the Mailchimp option after you click “Export fans.”
Set up your connection
First, select the Mailchimp audience you want to connect the FanThreeSixty audience to.
This list is updated every 15 minutes—if you’ve just created a new audience in Mailchimp, you may need to wait a few minutes for it to appear here.
Next, you’ll decide which segment of fans to send:
By default, the entire audience is selected. This means every fan in the audience will be included, even if they have opted out of marketing emails in your ticketing system. Select this option for transactional emails like receipts, sign up confirmations, or other non-marketing emails.
Marketing audience will exclude fans who have been marked as “do not solicit” in your ticketing data. Select this option when you’re sending promotional, sponsored or other marketing emails such as newsletters.
Marketing audience with secondary emails means that if a fan’s primary email is marked as “do not solicit” and they have another email on their profile, that secondary email will be included instead.
☞ Please note, Neither the Entire Audience nor the Marketing Audience option accounts for Mailchimp subscription preferences. To ensure you’re sending marketing emails to those fans you have the permission to market to, make sure your campaigns are set up to exclude fans who are not subscribed to your newsletter or campaigns.
Now you can determine the fields that will be sent to your connected email system. FanThreeSixty defaults to First Name, Last Name, and email. You can select additional fields as necessary.
Schedule your export
You can send your audience immediately, or you can set it up to recur on a rolling basis.
By default, your export will send now and only be sent once.
If your audience is likely to change (for example, if you’re exporting New fans or Ticket buyers), you may want to automate your export so the audience in Mailchimp always stays up to date. You can decide how frequently to update the audience, when it should stop and start and if you want to resend the entire list or just the new fans.
Once you’re happy with your export settings, click Connect.
🎉 Congrats, you’re done! 🎉
Once an audience is connected to Mailchimp
You’ll see a label under the name of the audience on the detail page. Click on this label to see details or make changes to your connection.
Tips: If you don’t see the option to export an audience to Mailchimp, contact your Client Success representative to kick-off the email integration process. FanThreeSixty also offers a native email solution that you can use to send personalized emails to your Audiences right from the FanThreeSixty platform.
